Agata Smetaniuk (born April 8, 1979) is a Polish-American elite athlete, a distinguished coach, entrepreneur and artist.

She is a seven-time world champion in Shotokan karate and has won 15 total medals at the World Karate Championships and 13 at the European Championships.

After her competitive career representing both Poland and the United States, she became a coach for the USA National Karate Team (AAU) and founded the fitness center “365 Approach to Sport” in Wheeling, Illinois.

She concluded her competitive karate career in 2022 by winning two gold medals at the World Championships.

She has become a prominent figure in the fitness industry as the owner of a training center and a coach for the USA National Karate Team, while also pursuing a parallel career as a painter.

She is a graduate of the Academy of Physical Education in Wroclaw, where she defended her master’s thesis in Sports Psychology in 2004.

Leveraging her Master’s degree in Physical Education with a specialization in Fitness and Health promotion Smetaniuk transitioned her focus to coaching and personal training.

She is a coach for the USA National Team within the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), where she oversees the motor development and training cycles for national team members.

Residing in the Chicago area, Smetaniuk founded her own fitness center,
365 Approach to Sport, located in Wheeling, Illinois.

As the owner and a personal trainer, she works with a diverse clientele, from individuals managing obesity to those seeking to build strength, emphasizing that physical transformation is achievable through dedication.

The fitness center is a family-owned business, which she runs with her husband.

Smetaniuk’s achievements have been widely recognized within the Polish-American community.

She was named Sportsperson of the Year by Chicago’s Wietrzne Radio and honored as one of the “Contemporary Polish Copernicus” laureates by the Polish Teachers Association in America for her contributions as a Pole living abroad.
